("ATS") is a full service CPA firm located in Indianapolis, IN. ATS provides business solutions to many for-profit, not-for-profit, and government entities. Under its Government Solutions business line, ATS provides accounting and consulting services to state, local, and federal government entities. ATS is looking for an accountant to assist federal government clients with their financial statement compilation and audit readiness initiatives. In addition, the accountant will manage other staff/team members who work in support of the project. There will also be opportunities to work on other initiatives and grow into firm leadership. Responsibilities and Duties Provide financial statement compilation, system and process implementations, and other audit readiness support for a DOD reporting entity. Identify accounting system posting logic deficiencies and develop corrective actions and/or system change requests. Support the development and implementation of new accounting procedures. Review and advise clients on matters related to the financial statement presentation and overall accuracy of the financial statements and their compliance with OMB-A-136 and federal GAAP. Assess internal controls within the existing processes and advise of ways in which they can be strengthened. Assist in the preparation of standard operating procedures, process narratives, and related flow diagrams. Assist with the development and implementation of corrective action plans (CAP) which will require coordination across the federal agency's offices. Support the accounting business line (tax and bookkeeping engagements) as needed through teamwork and collaboration Other duties as assigned
Applicant Qualifications:
5+ years experience working within DOD accounting and/or reporting roles. Experience with any DoD systems (experience with multiple systems is a plus): Defense Departmental Reporting Systems, Logistics Modernization Program, Advana, Defense Agency Initiative, General Funds Enterprise Business System, Navy ERP Strong organizational skills Both written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance QuickBooks ExperienceCPA, CDFM, CGFM, PMP, CISA
