GAAP QuickBooks Accounting Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Compensation:
$80K-110K Overview Senior Property Accountant for a diverse multi-entity group with a mix of commercial and residential real estate consisting of separate partnerships of varying sizes with different groups of partners. This will be a one hat fits all role. The property accountant manages the financial operations of real estate portfolios, including monthly closings, bank reconciliations, budgeting, and tenant lease analysis. They ensure compliance with GAAP, prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheets), and collaborate with property managers on budgeting, expense tracking, and security deposit management. Initial training of 3 months onsite then hybrid remote.
Core Duties and Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Closing:
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including preparing balance sheets and income statements.
General Ledger & Reconciliations:
Reconcile bank accounts, general ledgers, and fixed asset ledgers (depreciation, amortization).
Tenant & Lease Administration:
Process tenant rent payments, track lease agreements, handle rent escalations, and manage security deposits.
Budgeting & Analysis:
Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports, ensuring expenses align with budget projections.
Compliance & Audit:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with year-end audit preparation.
Required Skills and Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience:
Previous experience in property accounting or real estate finance is required
Software Proficiency:
Experience with property management software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Sage 300/Timberline, Appfolio, Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel preferred)
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and GAAP and Triple Net reconciliation (2-3 years preferred) and /CAM reconciliation (2-3 years preferred)
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
