We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing organization. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who enjoys working independently while collaborating with leadership and other departments. Position Summary The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, preparing financial reports, assisting with budgeting and audits, and supporting the organization's overall financial health. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank accounts. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related accounting functions. Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation. Assist with annual audits. Monitor cash flow and support budget preparation and forecasting. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and the Board of Directors. Support grant reporting as applicable. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficiency with SAGE accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Preferred Experience Nonprofit accounting experience. Audit preparation and coordination.
