We should talk...MaineHealth is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant who knows their way around a busy month-end close and enjoys digging in to figure out why the numbers don't quite add up. In this role, you'll handle a high volume of journal entries, accruals, reclasses, account reconciliations, and variance analysis while researching and resolving issues that come up during the close process. You'll take ownership of balance sheet accounts, juggle multiple deadlines, and work independently while being part of a collaborative accounting team. We're looking for someone with strong general accounting experience , great attention to detail, and the ability to keep things moving in a fast-paced environment. Fixed asset experience is a plus, and as a senior member of the team, you may also have the opportunity to share your knowledge and mentor Staff Accountants along the way. If you enjoy solving accounting puzzles, taking ownership of your work, and ending the month with everything exactly where it belongs, this could be a great next move. Summary:
The Senior Accountant role applies principles of accounting and statistical analysis in order to maintain control and accountability in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Monitors and maintains control of various general ledger accounts, prepares journal entries and detailed reports, prepares financial statements and analyses reflecting financial status and activities. May assist in training or supervising staff accounting personnel. Ensures timely accurate processing of account reconciliations, billings, disbursement requests and analyses of accounts in this area. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
License/Certifications:
CPA, CIA or CMA designation preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years of related experience.

The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package. The pay range for this position is $66,123.20 to $89,481.60 per year.
