POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Staff Accountant owns key day-to-day accounting activities across accounts receivable, banking, sales-tax administration, and month-end close. The position requires consistent follow-through, accurate reconciliations, and clear reporting of daily collection activity. The role also provides operational backup and supports other close-related priorities as assigned.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Avalara Tax Filing and Maintenance- Set up new customers in Avalara, ensuring account and tax-profile information is entered accurately
- Upload, organize, and maintain exemption certificates
- Review and update customer or tax information as changes occur. Accounts Receivable and Collections
- Post customer payments promptly and accurately, applying receipts to the appropriate accounts and invoices
- Manage monthly collections of approximately $1.2M
- 1.6M through consistent customer follow-up and attention to outstanding balances
- Maintain a weekly cash report using daily collection activity to provide timely visibility into receipts and expected cash flow
- Work toward monthly collection objectives that may support eligibility for a performance-based bonus. Month-End Close
- Reconcile four bank accounts by the second to fifth business day of each month, researching differences and supporting an efficient close
- Run the Avalara tax-system reconciliation script and review results for discrepancies requiring follow-up
- Reconcile accounts receivable to supporting records and investigate variances
- Assist with other month-end close activities as needed to help the accounting team meet reporting deadlines. Banking and Cash Operations
- Prepare and record deposits, confirming that receipts are complete, accurate, and properly documented
- Transfer funds between bank accounts as directed to support operating needs and appropriate cash positioning
- Monitor credit-card processing activity, identify irregularities or exceptions, and coordinate timely follow-up. Operational Support
- Provide invoicing backup during vacations or other coverage periods
- Complete customer account reconciliations by comparing transactions, payments, credits, and open balances and resolving differences
- Support additional accounting and month-end priorities as assigned.
TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGY
- ShopWorks, a promotional products industry platform
- Microsoft Excel proficiency required
- Microsoft 365 working proficiency
- Copilot and Claude
SCHEDULE AND WORK ARRANGEMENT
- Flexible start time between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. and end time between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m
- Eligible for one work-from-home day per week after three months of employment.
BENEFITS

Success in this role depends on accurate daily execution, proactive follow-up, confidence with Excel and Microsoft tools, and a willingness to provide practical backup across the accounting function.Pay:
$65,000.00- $75,000.
