Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations for a long-term contract position for a firm located in Culver City. This is a hybrid position and requires you to be on-site 2-3 days a week. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is confident handling day-to-day financial activities, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to timely reporting. The role calls for strong knowledge of general ledger processes, tax-related accounting, and journal entry preparation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience using Acumatica and strong month-end close experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting system.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Support corporate tax activities by organizing financial data and assisting with tax return preparation.
• Manage sales tax reporting responsibilities, including reviewing transactions and helping ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist with month-end and periodic close processes by verifying account balances and compiling supporting documentation.
• Work within Acumatica to process accounting records, generate reports, and maintain reliable financial information.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide accounting support, answer financial questions, and improve reporting accuracy. Requirements
• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Working knowledge of corporate tax, including support for corporate tax return preparation.
• Experience handling sales tax processes and related compliance activities.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger management.
• Hands-on experience using Acumatica or a comparable accounting ERP system.
• High attention to detail with the ability to organize and review financial data accurately.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a contract-based, fast-paced environment.
