In the 25 years since, Foley Family Wines & Spirits has grown into one of the world's largest producers of fine wine, adding some of the industry's most valuable wineries, located in the most recognized winemaking regions, including Napa, Sonoma, the Pacific Northwest, and New Zealand. Today, the Foley Family Wines & Spirits portfolio boasts a number of the most-celebrated names in wine, including Chalk Hill Estate, Chalone, Ferrari-Carano, and Sebastiani. Job Summary The Staff Accountant supports accounting operations and financial reporting for a multi-entity wine and spirits business. This role is responsible for account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, tax compliance support, and financial analysis. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and continuous process improvement.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Perform balance sheet analyses and investigate reconciling items. Process account reclassification requests and maintain supporting documentation. Assist with variance (flux) analysis and financial reporting schedules. Support intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and elimination entries. Assist with bank compliance reporting and other lender reporting requirements. Support capital expenditure accounting, including CER tracking, budget monitoring, and reporting. Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation. Assist with sales and use tax, property tax, excise tax, and other regulatory filings. Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests. Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash reporting activities. Support DTC accounting activities, including payment reconciliations and chargeback analysis. Partner with AP, AR, Operations, Payroll, and IT to resolve issues and improve processes. Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures. Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and special projects as assigned
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent 1 to 3 years of accounting experience preferred Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Strong Microsoft Office skills including
Word, Excel and Outlook:
extensive use of Excel using spreadsheets for data manipulation Must have good organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and analytical skills Able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills
