Job Description

Staff Accountant - Part-time Job Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes. This position helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Association's financial information and compliance with accounting standards and Association policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and record journal entries Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and balance sheet accounts Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual close reports Prepare all necessary financial reports and supporting schedules Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Review and verify the accuracy of financial transactions Support external Public Accounting firm and provide requested documentation Maintain accounting records and filing systems Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Experience 2-5 years of accounting experience preferred Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting Skills Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary Professional development opportunities Part-time flexible work hours Hybrid optional
