Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Southlake, Texas, on a Contract to long-term basis. In this role, you will manage financial activities for a portfolio of properties, leveraging your accounting expertise to maintain accurate records and support financial operations. This position offers the opportunity to transition into a long-term role with increased pay after the initial contract period.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions across an assigned portfolio of 20-30 properties.
- Utilize accounting software, including RealPage Onesite and Microsoft applications, to input, retrieve, and process financial data.
- Reconcile bank statements and prepare detailed financial reports as needed.
- Audit property accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgets.
- Address discrepancies between actual expenses and budgeted amounts, providing clear documentation.
- Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Communicate effectively with property managers to resolve financial inquiries and discrepancies.
- Conduct research to support financial decision-making and improve accounting processes.
- Maintain organized records and exercise sound judgment in managing deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial data. Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as RealPage Onesite and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong understanding of property accounting principles.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations and prepare financial reports.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to interact with property managers and team members.
- Ability to identify and address budget variances with analytical thinking.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
