Job Summary Staff Accountant assists with operations in the accounting department. Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization. You will need to reside within 50 miles of our Corporate Headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ as this role has the option of hybrid or onsite. Duties and Responsibilities Perform reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts Create month-end journal entries for areas assigned Manage the day-to-day accounting activities related to fixed assets for Corporate and our Retail stores. This includes, but is not limited to, collaborating with other teams such as IT, Facilities, and Procurement, recording depreciation expense, performing variance analysis and preparing monthly reporting as requested. Apply new accounting technologies and software to streamline accounting processes Ensure that accounting work is performed in accordance with GAAP Identify large and unusual variances in expenses, and work with management for corrective actions Support the annual financial audit by providing deliverables for assigned areas Complete special projects as assigned Maintain financial security by following internal controls Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential Assist other accounting staff as needed Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2+ years of applicable accounting experience. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices Intermediate knowledge of Excel Able to work with minimum supervision Excellent communication skills Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills Ability to complete projects on time and accurately is critical Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus Ability to work more than 8 hours a day during the first 7 business days for month-end close Ability to work hybrid schedule which includes 2-3 days in office Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed and not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel assigned to this job.
