Staff Accountant (Experienced, Assurance focused)

Experienced Staff Accountant - Assurance Focus Lally Group, PC, is a growing full‑service accounting and consulting firm committed to our team members and dedicated to being a trusted business advisor to our clients. We are seeking to add an Experienced Staff Accountant (Non‑CPA) to our Jackson / Lansing , MI team. The qualified candidate will provide reliable assurance, accounting, and tax support services under the supervision of Managers and Partners.

Responsibilities include:

Assurance & Accounting Support Perform audit, review, and compilation engagements Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules Perform detailed account analysis and reconciliations Tax Preparation Assist with preparation of business and individual tax returns Support tax engagements and compliance work Engagement & Team Support Work closely with engagement teams to meet deadlines Communicate professionally with clients and internal staff Apply accounting standards and firm procedures consistently Firm Support Assist with training and mentoring junior staff, as appropriate Identify process improvements within engagements Participation in professional development activities Overtime hours throughout tax season based on client deliverable demands and due dates should be expected.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting (required) 5+ years of public accounting experience, including assurance work CPA license not required; CPA candidate or advanced coursework preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and assurance procedures, technical accounting concepts, and financial concepts such as debits, credits, journal entries, accrual accounting Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Familiarity with SOX compliance Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong analytical skills coupled with a solid understanding of financial management principles

Pay:

$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
