As Staff Accountant, you will support the Company's accounting operations through accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance activities, and process execution. This role partners closely with Finance, Operations, Payroll, and cross-functional teams to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately, reporting requirements are met, and accounting processes operate efficiently. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, accountability, analytical thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Services and Duties. As Staff Accountant, you will support the Company's accounting operations through accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance activities, and process execution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare month-end reconciliations and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting principles. Prepare property tax, sales tax, business license, and permit filings while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations. Generate financial reports and provide analysis to support business decisions and operational performance. Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and billing inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. Review and audit corporate credit card expense reports, ensuring compliance with Company policies and accurate account coding. Monitor and reconcile inventory activity across stores and warehouse locations, assisting with inventory accuracy and reporting. Support the application and renewal process for licenses, permits, and other regulatory requirements. Assist with cash, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Support warehouse management, POS, merchant services, and related financial systems by assisting with troubleshooting, reporting, and process improvements. Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Payroll, and other departments to ensure financial accuracy and consistency. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. Maintain confidentiality and ensure the integrity of financial information. To succeed in this role, you must bring strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred. Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Experience with ERP systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build positive working relationships. High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information. Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational partnership. Success Indicators. Success in this role is demonstrated through accurate financial reporting, strong compliance, and effective partnership across the organization: Accurate and timely completion of reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities. Strong compliance with tax, licensing, and reporting requirements. Minimal audit findings, accounting discrepancies, or reporting errors. Positive partnership with Operations and cross-functional teams through timely and accurate financial support. Identification and implementation of process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy. Work Environment. This position operates primarily in an office environment and requires regular collaboration with Finance, Operations, Payroll, and other cross-functional teams. The role includes financial analysis, reporting, reconciliations, and administrative responsibilities that support the Company's accounting operations. The essential duties of this role require the ability to perform the following physical tasks: Operate standard office equipment including computer, keyboard, telephone, and printer. Extended periods of computer use to review financial information, prepare reports, and complete reconciliations. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with Team Members, leadership, vendors, and business partners. Maintain strong attention to detail while working with financial data and confidential information. Ability to move between office workspaces and meeting areas to support collaboration and project needs. Occasional lifting or carrying of materials up to 15 pounds such as files, reports, or office supplies. Occasional travel may be required, including via aircraft or motor vehicle, to support Company initiatives. Leadership Expectations.
