Job Description
About the role: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily receivable transactions and maintenance of the monthly general ledger. The Staff Accountant will provide support with various accounting transactions.
Prepares journal entries. Prepares and processes documentation for internal and external auditors. Identifies and investigates problems with the accounting system on an as-needed basis. Works closely with the field to ensure accuracy of accounting information. Prepares income and balance sheet statements and various other accounting statements and reports for submission to the Department Lead Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Conducts special studies and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures. Performs monthly bank reconciliations and account analysis. Reconciles assigned accounts and calculates depreciation/amortization expenses as needed. May assist with training and mentoring Accountants. Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations for the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures. All other accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma required Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred 2 to 5 years of experience in an accounting department required Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures Ability to meet deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience with MS Office products Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organization skills Knowledge of automated account system, J.D. Edwards System is a plus This is an in-office role at the company HQ in Lombard Illinois.
