An Accountant organizes and maintains financial records and prepares financial statements for companies and organizations. Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).
Accounting Supervisor This is a senior-level leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who knows the numbers—and loves working with people. We are looking for a confident, proactive Accounting Supervisor with at least seven years of experience in public accounting or a client-facing accounting environment. This is not a trainee or entry-level position. The right person will bring strong accounting and payroll expertise, excellent client communication skills, and the ability to lead, mentor, and review the work of staff accountants. What You'll Do You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our clients' financial records while guiding staff accountants and managing accounting engagements from start to finish.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising, reviewing, and providing quality control for staff work in QuickBooks Online Preparing and reviewing adjusting journal entries Ensuring accurate and timely monthly and year-end closings Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, online payment accounts, and retained earnings Preparing monthly financial statements according to established closing schedules Reviewing general ledger activity for accuracy and compliance Preparing and reviewing weekly, biweekly, and monthly payroll Supporting payroll compliance and resolving payroll-related issues Onboarding new clients by evaluating their accounting needs, establishing systems, and developing efficient workflows Leading client conversations with confidence, professionalism, and clarity Communicating regularly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide financial guidance Ensuring the timely delivery of monthly and quarterly financial reports Managing the documentation and monitoring of internal controls Maintaining GAAP standards and the firm's accounting best practices Managing multiple client projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional service standards Assisting clients with business incorporation and entity setup Mentoring staff accountants and helping them strengthen their technical and client-service skills What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting At least seven years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll, preferably within a public accounting or advisory firm Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online Strong working knowledge of GAAP, adjusting journal entries, financial statement preparation, and payroll compliance Proven experience supervising staff accountants and conducting quality-control reviews Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to handle client questions and concerns professionally Strong written and verbal communication skills Exceptional organization and the ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines A proactive, solutions-focused approach to your work A genuine interest in mentoring others and contributing to a collaborative team Availability and accountability during standard business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time Ability to work in the office full-time during the first 90 days and transition to a hybrid schedule of three in-office days per week afterward What You'll Find Here A cloud-based, technology-forward, paperless environment A supportive and collaborative team culture Meaningful opportunities to lead, mentor, and make an impact A fast-paced, client-focused workplace that values accuracy, accountability, and outstanding service A hybrid work schedule following the initial 90-day onboarding period Benefits Medical insurance Dental insurance Paid time off If you are an experienced accounting professional ready to lead people, strengthen client relationships, and take ownership of high-level accounting work, we would love to meet you.
