Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and executing tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and providing strategic insights into tax planning and reporting. Your expertise will support not only our organization's financial health but other's through accurate tax preparation, analysis, and regulatory adherence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across various financial disciplines, including estate planning, corporate accounting, and regulatory reporting, while leveraging your strong technical accounting skills to contribute to our continued growth. Responsibilities Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assist with estate planning activities, including wills, trusts, and estate law considerations. Conduct detailed financial analysis and interpret financial reports to support tax strategies. Collaborate on mergers & acquisitions by performing due diligence and integrating financial data within tax frameworks. Maintain accurate general ledger accounting records and perform balance sheet reconciliations. Support internal audits and ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls for financial reporting integrity. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, TaxProLink, or other financial tools for bookkeeping, taxes, and financial statement preparation. Perform account reconciliation tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Assist with regulatory reporting requirements related to securities law and non-profit accounting when applicable. Contribute to the development of financial reports that interpret complex financial concepts for management decision-making. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; EA or CPA License preferred. Proven tax experience with a strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting standards. Familiarity with estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law is highly desirable. Experience with SOX and IRS rules for compliance. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, TaxProLink, or similar platforms; knowledge of financial software tools is essential. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Knowledge of securities law, private equity, mergers & acquisitions, and asset management concepts is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for preparing comprehensive financial reports. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
