Role Overview DCI is searching for a Tax Accountant to be responsible for preparing reports/calculations required for tax filings related to income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, and other types of taxes (except payroll). The colleague will coordinate the timely and accurate filing of sales, use, and property tax returns. Additionally, the colleague will assist with certain accounting functions related to taxes such as booking monthly tax accruals and recording tax payments. Pay starting at $60,000 annual salary.

Hybrid, 3 days per week in office at 615 Channelside Dr., Tampa, FL, 33602 Position Responsibilities Gather information and prepare reports necessary to prepare tax returns
Manage/coordinate the timely and accurate filing of sales, use, and property tax returns
From time to time, prepare and file tax returns (generally outsourced)
Review property tax bills to ensure the property valuations and charges are reasonable
Coordinate the payment of tax bills, invoices, and returns with paid preparers or DCI accounts payable team
From time to time, remit payment of tax bills/returns online
Prepare tax registration/renewal forms required by the taxing authorities
Assist with the forecasting of tax payments
Ensure the company is in good standing with the taxing authorities
Respond to tax notices by writing to or calling the taxing authorities
In the event of a governmental tax audit, assist with gathering information requested by the auditor
Gather and supply information requested by professional service providers (e.g. financial auditors, paid preparers, etc.)
Assist with accounting tasks related to tax such booking accrual entries, reconciling general ledgers for tax accounts, and recording tax payments in the accounting system
Assist with the review and management of sales tax exemption certificates to mitigate audit exposure
From time to time, research the taxability of specific products and services by jurisdictions to ensure the billing system is configured correctly
Assist with opening and reviewing mail (mainly tax bills & notices received in the mail)
From time to time, assist with mailing tax returns
Help maintain "Standard Operating Procedures" (SOPs) for indirect tax processes to ensure consistency
Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a focus in accounting (preferred)
1 -2 years of accounting/tax-related experience (preferred)
Proficient with MS Excel
Strong research skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
