Job Description

About the Role Peakview CPAs is seeking an experienced CPA or EA to join our tax team. This is an in-person position for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a client-focused public accounting environment. We're a small firm, and it shows — close collaboration, open doors, and a team that genuinely looks out for each other. Key Responsibilities Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns (Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120) Prepare federal and state tax compliance reports Perform bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, as well as payroll-related tasks Manage multiple client engagements, schedules, and deadlines effectively Maintain accurate files and ensure strict client confidentiality Review data for accuracy and verify completion of assigned work Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting/tax software platforms Perform additional accounting and tax-related duties as assigned Requirements BS in Accounting 3-5+ years of tax preparation experience Active CPA license or EA credential Experience preparing Form 1040, Form 1065, and Form 1120 returns (1041 experience is a plus) Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax-basis accounting - both cash and accrual methods Proficiency with QuickBooks and other accounting software platforms Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance Excellent written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-state tax filings Familiarity with tax research tools and e-filing systems Prior experience in a CPA firm setting Experience with payroll and bookkeeping for small to medium-sized businesses Work-Life Balance We work hard during tax season, January 1 through April 15, and then slow things down. From April 16 through December 31, our team works a Monday-Thursday, 4-day work week — enjoying Fridays off.
