Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate month-end close activities, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as Yardi, QuickBooks, or similar systems. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation. Utilize Excel data analysis skills for detailed financial analysis, variance analysis, and reporting. Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining meticulous records of financial transactions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, expense tracking, and financial projects to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Experience Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field. Proven accounting experience in a corporate setting or public accounting environment, with a strong foundation in GAAP and real estate accounting principles. Hands-on experience working with multiple accounting systems such as Yardi, Quickbooks, Paychex, or similar platforms. Familiarity with payroll management systems like Paychex or ADP is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed account analysis, account reconciliation (including general ledger reconciliation), and journal entries. Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and balance sheet reconciliation. Excellent numeracy skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel—for data entry and spreadsheet analysis. Experience handling accounts payable/receivable management and bookkeeping tasks within a fast-paced environment.
