Position Overview The Senior Corporate Accountant will play a critical role in stabilizing and strengthening the accounting function. This position is responsible for core accounting operations, financial reporting, and supporting compliance efforts, while helping to establish repeatable processes and internal controls. This is not a siloed role. You will work across departments and with leadership to ensure accuracy, consistency, and operational alignment. What You Will Own Core Accounting & Financial Reporting Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Maintain accuracy of the general ledger across multiple accounts and entities Analyze financial results and provide insight into variances and trends Support preparation of internal financial statements and reporting packages Process, Structure & Controls Build and document accounting processes and SOPs Identify gaps in workflows and implement improvements Strengthen internal controls and ensure consistency across accounting operations Drive accountability and follow-through across financial processes Operational Accounting Support Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and oversee cash management Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes Partner with operational leaders to ensure financial alignment Compliance & Tax Support Assist with sales and use tax reporting and compliance requirements Support corporate tax processes in coordination with external advisors Maintain documentation required for audits, diligence, and regulatory reviews Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of accounting experience (corporate or public accounting) Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting Experience with month-end close and financial reporting Ability to operate independently and take ownership of work Preferred CPA or CPA-eligible Experience in multi-entity or multi-state environments Exposure to tax, compliance, or audit processes Background in manufacturing, distribution, or technology environments Professional Attributes We Value High accountability and follow-through Strong organizational discipline and attention to detail Ability to bring structure to unstructured environments Clear and proactive communication Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving organization Why This Role Stands Out Direct exposure to executive leadership Opportunity to shape processes and build structure High-impact work that influences real business decisions A role designed for someone who wants to grow beyond task execution Additional Details This is a full-time, in-office role in Columbia, SC We are seeking someone who values presence, collaboration, and accountability
