Job DescriptionJob Description Phillips, Currin & Company, CPA's, LLC is a reputable public accounting firm providing high-quality tax, audit, and advisory services to individuals and businesses. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, integrity, and client-centered approach. We are currently seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team and contribute to our continued growth. Public Accounting Experience is required. CPA licensure is preferred.
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will assist with a variety of accounting and tax-related tasks, including preparing financial statements, tax returns, and audit workpapers. This position offers hands-on experience in multiple areas of public accounting, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns Assist in audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements Perform general ledger reconciliations and adjusting journal entries Maintain accurate and organized client files and documentation Research and apply current tax laws and accounting standards Communicate effectively with clients to gather financial information and resolve issues Support senior accountants and partners with special projects as needed Ensure compliance with firm policies and professional standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required CPA or CPA candidate preferred (or intent to pursue CPA certification) Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting (internship experience may be considered) Understanding of GAAP and federal/state tax regulations Proficiency with accounting and tax software (QuickBooks, Proseries, or similar) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Strong interpersonal and communication skills
