Job Description
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP accounting standards and internal control procedures.
- Assist with annual audits, tax support, and lender or investor reporting requirements. Land Development & Project Accounting
- Monitor project budgets, job costs, land inventory, and development expenditures.
- Analyze actual-to-budget performance for active development projects and communicate variances to management.
- Track capitalized development costs, project profitability, work orders, and change orders.
- Partner with project managers to improve financial visibility and reporting accuracy. Cash Flow, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and assist with annual budgets and multi-year financial projections.
- Support feasibility analysis for new land acquisitions, development opportunities, and project-level returns.
- Build and maintain Excel-based models for budgets, forecasts, and scenario analysis. Process Improvement & Technology
- Improve accounting processes, reporting packages, internal controls, and standard operating procedures.
- Use ERP systems, Excel, and reporting tools to create accurate, repeatable, and scalable financial reporting.
- Support automation, dashboarding, and data integration initiatives where appropriate. Special Projects
- Support entity accounting, consolidations, acquisitions, due diligence, tax planning, and strategic financial analysis.
- Assist executive leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and management reporting.
