Compensation:
$85,000-$105,000 base, depending on experience
Location:
On-site | Reports to: Site Finance Leadership The work matters here. The parts our companies machine, fabricate, and assemble end up inside nuclear reactors, defense systems, and aerospace platforms. Tolerances are tight. Standards are higher. And the numbers behind all of it — the costs, the margins, the cash, the controls — have to be just as precise. That's where you come in. We're hiring a Senior Staff Accountant who wants to be more than a month-end button-pusher. You'll own meaningful pieces of the close, sit close enough to leadership to actually influence decisions, and have room to fix the things that are slowing the business down. If you've ever finished a reconciliation and thought, "there's a better way to do this" — we want to hear from you. What your first year looks like
- Months 1-3: Learn the business, take ownership of recurring reconciliations and AR/AP workflows, and shadow a full month-end close.
- Months 4-6: Run pieces of the close independently, partner with operations on cost and cash questions, and identify your first process improvement.
- Months 7-12: Lead a meaningful improvement project (think: close acceleration, ERP optimization, or controls strengthening), support the annual audit, and become a trusted finance partner to site leadership. What you'll own
- Month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- AR, AP, and cash management — keeping the cycle clean and the data trustworthy
- Audit prep and compliance support, start to finish
- Process improvements that make the team faster, the controls tighter, and the numbers more reliable
- Real business partnership with operational leaders who actually want your input What makes this role different
- A seat at the table, not a desk in the corner. Direct, regular exposure to finance and operational leadership.
- Room to improve things. Identify a gap, propose a fix, ship it. We don't bury good ideas in committees.
- Breadth you can't get in Big 4 or a siloed corporate role. You'll touch close, AR/AP, cash, audit, ERP, and operations.
- Mission-critical industries. Your work supports the nuclear utility, DOE, aerospace, and defense sectors.
- Stability with momentum. Established businesses, growing platform, entrepreneurial culture. You'll thrive here if you
- Have a Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Bring 3+ years of accounting experience and have worked inside an ERP
- Think analytically, communicate clearly, and stay organized when priorities shift
- Are genuinely curious — the kind of person who asks "why is it done this way?"
- Default to ownership instead of waiting to be told Bonus points for
- Manufacturing accounting background (standard costing, WIP, inventory)
- Experience with ERP implementations, upgrades, or optimization
- Hands-on month-end close and audit support
- Global Shop Solutions ERP experience About Master Machine Master Machine is part of a portfolio of nuclear-focused manufacturing and industrial brands.
