Job Description

Senior Accountant Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will own and execute key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across multiple entities. This role analyzes financial performance, supports operational decision-making, strengthens internal controls, and identifies opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and automation. The Senior Accountant will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, leadership, and accounting team members to support the company's continued growth and operational excellence.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Own and execute key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial results across multiple entities. Investigate and resolve discrepancies proactively. Analyze drivers impacting inventory margins, profitability, and operating performance. Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to management. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation. Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and accounting processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. Assist Accounting Manager with external audits. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and leadership teams. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Ownership mentality with a continuous improvement mindset. Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of accounting systems and financial reporting processes. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. 3-7+ years of progressive accounting experience required. Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience strongly preferred. Experience owning month-end close responsibilities preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
