Capital Accountant

Description We are seeking an experienced Sr Accountant to support a growing organization in a long-term contract capacity. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced accounting processes with a focus on fixed assets, capital projects, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with capitalization policies and supporting the organization's overall financial operations.

Responsibilities:

+ Support the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. + Prepare journal entries and perform detailed analysis related to capital and fixed asset accounts. + Manage the capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of assets in accordance with established policies. + Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger and investigate discrepancies as needed. + Review capital project activity to ensure alignment with capitalization guidelines. + Assist with accounting initiatives and projects related to asset management and capital investments. + Partner cross-functionally to provide accurate asset data and address asset-related questions. + Prepare documentation and support schedules for audits and compliance reviews. + Provide guidance to team members on capital accounting processes and procedures. + Contribute to additional accounting projects and operational needs as assigned. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Advanced knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Yardi software is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are advantageous.
• Experience in real estate construction accounting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Sage Premier Depreciation software is a plus.
