full-time Senior Accountant / Project Accounting / Financial Operations Lead Memphis, TN | $80,000-$100,000 | Full-Time A growing, mission-driven organization is adding a newly created Project Accounting / Financial Operations Lead to its finance team in Memphis. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, and bringing structure and consistency to complex financial operations. This role will work closely with the broader Accounting and Finance team and operational leaders across the organization, providing project-level financial oversight across a large and growing portfolio. Construction/project accounting experience is a plus, but not required -strong corporate accounting, financial reporting, reconciliation, and close experience are highly relevant. What You'll Do Coordinate monthly and year-end close activities across a large project portfolio Review and reconcile project revenue, receivables, deferred revenue, accruals, WIP, and other key balances Prepare and review account reconciliations and supporting schedules Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and drive issues to resolution Support audits, compliance reviews, and financial reporting Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting Help establish and standardize accounting processes and controls across multiple teams and locations Identify opportunities to improve workflows, systems, and overall financial operations Take ownership of complex accounting issues and serve as a key financial resource for the organization What We're Looking For 7+ years of progressive accounting or financial operations experience Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience working with project accounting, operational accounting, or complex/multi-entity environments is highly valued Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Comfortable getting into the details and working through complex accounting issues Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence without direct authority Strong communication skills and a proactive, can-do approach Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Why This Opportunity?
