Job Description

We are looking for a Property Accountant to support financial operations for real estate assets in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is suited for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage daily accounting activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of property accounting principles and is comfortable working with Yardi in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee accounting activity for assigned properties, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with established accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly close deliverables, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for review.
  • Maintain the general ledger and investigate variances or discrepancies to keep financial data complete and reliable.
  • Apply accrual-based accounting practices to recognize expenses and revenue in the appropriate reporting periods.
  • Produce property-level financial reports and assist with analysis that supports operational and management decisions.
  • Use Yardi software to process accounting tasks, manage records, and generate required financial information.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues, clarify balances, and improve reporting accuracy.
