Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key finance operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity based in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is ideal for someone who can manage core accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to a smooth monthly close process. The successful candidate will play an important part in strengthening day-to-day accounting accuracy and ensuring reconciliations and reporting tasks are completed on time.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee major components of the month-end close cycle to help ensure timely and accurate financial results.
  • Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining proper supporting documentation and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Manage general ledger activity by reviewing account balances, investigating discrepancies, and preserving data integrity.
  • Complete account reconciliations on a regular basis and resolve outstanding items in a prompt and organized manner.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and verify transactions to ensure cash activity is accurately reflected in company records.
  • Analyze financial information and identify inconsistencies that may affect reporting accuracy or compliance.
  • Collaborate with finance team members and internal stakeholders to support routine accounting operations and reporting needs. Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in senior-level accounting or closely related finance responsibilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger accounting.
  • Proven ability to prepare journal entries with accuracy and appropriate documentation.
  • Hands-on experience performing account reconciliations and researching variances.
  • Background in bank reconciliation processes and cash-related balance review.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines effectively in a contract-based work environment.
