Tax Accountant Location:
Memphis, TN Job type: Full time, onsite.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Accountant to join a well-established professional services organization in the Memphis, TN area. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced client-focused environment. This role involves tax preparation, compliance review, research, and supporting broader accounting functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns. Conduct tax research and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations. Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for internal leadership and client review. Collaborate with internal teams to support accounting, audit, and related financial functions when required. Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and timely completion of assigned deliverables. Utilize accounting and tax software to manage workflows and reporting efficiently. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding tax matters and project updates.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. CPA certification or active progress toward CPA preferred. 2-5 years of experience in tax accounting, public accounting, or a related environment. Strong understanding of tax compliance, tax preparation processes, and applicable regulations. Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and tax research tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with diverse business entities and high-value client portfolios. Exposure to public accounting or consulting environments.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
