Full Job Description Description:
FiberLight, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to support corporate accounting for a multi-state fiber networking company backed by a global private equity firm. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure across multiple accounting functions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a dynamic, growth-oriented organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Support accounting activities in key areas, including: Revenue recognition accounting (subscription, construction, and deferred revenue) Construction and project accounting Lease accounting and recordkeeping Debt accounting Operating expense accounting, including commissions and other compensation-related accruals Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation. Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances. Assist with internal and external audits and help maintain internal control documentation. Partner with FP&A, IT, and operations teams to complete assigned responsibilities and identify process improvements. Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as business needs evolve.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-3 years of accounting experience. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA certification or progress toward obtaining CPA designation. Exposure to ASC 606 and ASC 842 concepts. Public accounting, audit, or corporate accounting experience. Experience with NetSuite and/or Salesforce. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
