DOQ SUMMARY This position ensures that Reporting of the City of Amarillo is completed, accurate and accessible in accordance to prescribed City policies. This position is also responsible for assisting with CIP.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviewing all financial statements prepared by the budget analysts. Prepare financial statements for Amarillo Economic Development Corp and Amarillo Hospital District. Complete audit requests or workpaper inquiries for all component units and Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. Design and develop reporting dashboards in Workday in conjunction with the ERP Specialist. Learn to design simple reports within Workday for financial needs. Assist the property accountant in the compilation of reporting for Construction in Progress when necessary. Performs other job-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of one year of experience in accounting. Some governmental accounting experience preferred. Valid Texas Driver's License Required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices including governmental finance and accounting. Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures. Strong computer skills using Word, Excel, and other accounting software for word processing and accounting purposes. Ability to learn new software and improve processes with existing software. Ability to prepare financial and accounting records. Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data. Ability to analyze and interpret accounting standards around leases and software subscriptions. Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely. Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail. Ability to review work for accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Skill in communicating effectively in writing and orally as appropriate to the needs of the audience. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in an indoor office work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands.
REGULAR HOURS OF WORK
Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm. This position may be required to work outside normal shifts including evenings, weekends, and overtime as necessary by the department.
