ROLE AND PURPOSE
To maintain the accuracy of all AISD general ledger accounts and the resulting financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and TEA regulations. Perform specific duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Minimum certification/education: Bachelor's in business administration in accounting or equivalent
Experience:
Prior Texas public schools district accounting experience preferred Experience in working in computerized accounting systems
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Must have a basic understanding of fund accounting Proficient in the use of a personal computer, with emphasis on Microsoft Office applications
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
I.
JOB DUTIES
Reconcile general ledger accounts Prepare and post journal entries Prepare and post daily bank deposits Manage Activity Fund account codes. Approve Activity Fund requisitions. Assist with annual District audit process Print and mail accounts payable check runs (back up) Provide analytical and evaluative reports, as necessary Provide schedules and information to the external auditors, as needed Provide accurate and timely answers to other District personnel who have questions or problems regarding Activity Funds, campus or department budgets, or general accounting issues Provide training to campus and department personnel on accounting processes. Perform other projects as assigned by the Director

Personal computer, printer, fax machine, copier, scanner, and calculator. Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, etc.) Google Suite applications (Docs, G-Mail, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)
