Job Description

A chemical company located in Baytown/Bay City, TX is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant. Training for this position will take place at our Baytown, TX plant for the first month or so. After that it will be up to 3 days/week in Bay City and 2 days/week in Baytown with a possible permanent placement in Bay City.
Responsibilities:
Support senior accountants with daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks. Assist with processing invoices, updating accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Help prepare financial statements and reports. Process payroll and assist with payroll tax calculations. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles. Support the preparation of audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance tasks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or 5 years' experience. Proven attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP is a plus. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and meet deadlines.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
