Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and managing costs across various departments, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is passionate about financial accuracy, has a strong understanding of accounting principles, and enjoys working with data to optimize costs and improve financial performance. Responsibilities Manage and conduct Month End close with assistance from manager Reviewing and maintaining accounts receivables and payables by working with clerks to ensure accuracy and completeness Preparing and posting journal entries Implement Inventory controls and conduct physical counts Reconcile intercompany transactions Review weekly reports on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Statement Transactions and send to Manager Assist with annual audit Practice discretion and confidentiality with payroll information Review Costing and pricing monthly and quarterly to update models Maintain monthly reports for Costs, Expenses and Budgeting, to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the data Prepare monthly financials for Internal, Committee and Banks as needed Assist Accounting staff with AR, AP, Banking, and other tasks as needed Assist with any other projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proven experience in cost accounting or financial analysis within a corporate setting. Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting concepts. Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero; experience with ERP systems is preferred. Proficiency in financial report writing, cash flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques. Understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation processes. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
