Responsibilities Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and industry standards for oil and gas operations. Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliation processes. Oversee accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections aligned with contractual terms. Conduct cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and budget forecasting to support financial planning efforts. Ensure regulatory compliance accounting related to securities law, governmental accounting standards, and industry-specific regulations such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Utilize financial software such as wolfPak, QuickBooks, or similar platforms for accurate data entry, reporting, and analysis. Perform detailed Excel data analysis using functions like VLOOKUP and pivot tables to interpret financial reports and support decision-making. Assist with internal audits and support SOX compliance initiatives while mentoring junior team members on technical accounting procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting within the oil and gas sector or related industries such as energy or natural resources. Strong knowledge of GAAP, technical accounting principles, double entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts specific to the industry. Proficiency in financial software including WolfPak, QuickBooks, Quicken, or comparable systems; advanced Excel skills are essential. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards such as Texas Railroad Commission. Demonstrated ability in financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and financial analysis techniques like cash flow analysis and budgeting. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet management, and general ledger maintenance. Strong communication skills with a focus on mentoring team members and collaborating across departments.
