Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting activities tied to merchandise inventory, including valuation reviews, reserve calculations, balance adjustments, and account reconciliations.
- Evaluate product costs, gross margin performance, and profitability trends across categories to support informed financial decision-making.
- Investigate inventory variances and shrink patterns, then coordinate with operational partners to identify root causes and improve accuracy.
- Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close by preparing inventory-related entries, analyses, and supporting schedules.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen inventory reporting processes and maintain effective internal controls.
- Monitor inventory movements and transaction activity within large-scale operations to ensure financial records remain complete and accurate.
- Prepare reporting and analysis that helps leadership assess inventory performance, cost drivers, and areas of financial risk.
