About Estrada & Associates Estrada & Associates is a fast-paced accounting and consulting firm focused on providing accurate, timely, and professional accounting services to individuals and businesses. Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage a portfolio of client accounts and provide accounting, payroll, tax, and client-service support. This role requires someone who understands not only how to process accounting transactions, but also why they are treated a certain way and how a client's entity structure and business activities may affect the appropriate accounting treatment. Responsibilities Manage assigned client accounts and consistently meet monthly, quarterly, annual, payroll, sales tax, and tax-season deadlines. Maintain accounting records, prepare and post journal entries, and assist with financial statement preparation. Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, payroll, and other balance sheet accounts. Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting procedures. Review financial records for discrepancies, unusual activity, coding errors, or missing information and make or recommend appropriate corrections. Review financial statements for accuracy and appropriate application of GAAP, as applicable. Process payroll and related reporting for assigned clients. Prepare and file applicable monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax reports and returns. Prepare personal and corporate income tax returns as assigned. Prepare applicable year-end reporting, including Forms 1099 and supporting documentation. Understand how different business entity structures may affect accounting, payroll, tax, and financial reporting. Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation. Proactively request missing client information and follow up on outstanding items. Communicate professionally with clients and explain routine accounting matters clearly. Identify accounting, tax, or compliance issues requiring additional review and escalate them appropriately. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive client information. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, detail-oriented, and able to look beyond data entry to understand the financial activity behind the numbers . We are looking for someone who can: Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, unusual activity, and potential errors. Apply accounting principles to different client situations rather than relying solely on checklists. Understand common business entity structures and their impact on accounting and reporting. Independently manage multiple client accounts and competing deadlines. Maintain organized and accurate files, workpapers, and documentation. Take ownership of assigned work and follow through from beginning to completion. Exercise good judgment and recognize when an issue requires additional review. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and coworkers. Work comfortably across accounting, payroll, tax, and document-management technology. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of accounting experience. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. Experience with payroll, sales and use tax reporting, and personal and corporate tax preparation (this part is ideal but not required). Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel; Lacerte experience preferred. Benefits Health insurance Paid time offWork Location:
