The Role We are looking for a Project Controller to provide financial control and commercial support across our projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Operations and Finance, you will provide clear visibility of project performance, protect profitability, manage working capital and support effective financial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Key Accountabilities
- Take ownership of the financial control of assigned projects, protecting and enhancing forecast Gross Profit (GP) and cash performance.
- Provide clear visibility and control of project working capital, including accrued income, Accounts Receivable, WIP, GRNI and Accounts Payable.
- Establish robust project financial baselines, ensuring revenue, costs, budgets, milestones and forecasts are accurately maintained.
- Partner with Project Managers to manage financial performance, invoicing, cash flow, risks and opportunities.
- Ensure accurate monthly project reporting and effective financial close-out. Key Responsibilities
- Review project costs, purchase orders, expenses, supplier invoices and timesheets, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with Group policies.
- Support project forecasting, including EAC/ETC and CAC, analysing performance against budget and identifying key variances, risks and opportunities.
- Manage month-end project activities, including accruals, GRNI, revenue recognition, WIP and Accounts Receivable provisions.
- Ensure revenue is recognised accurately in accordance with IFRS 15, contractual requirements and Group accounting policies.
- Prepare and review GP, working capital and project KPI reporting, providing clear financial analysis and commentary.
- Support Project Managers with change orders, customer PO coverage, invoicing, collections and client disputes.
- Maintain strong project financial controls, data integrity and governance throughout the project lifecycle. Essential
- Secondary education with relevant higher qualifications.
- CA, CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Previous experience in a business partnering role within a medium-sized business.
- Broad practical knowledge of the day-to-day operations of an accounting and finance function.
- Experience working with integrated ERP business management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
