This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our organization's financial health by managing various accounting functions with precision and integrity. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency with leading financial software. As an integral part of our team, you will support the accurate recording, analysis, and reconciliation of financial data, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. This position is perfect for someone eager to grow their expertise in corporate and governmental accounting within a collaborative environment that values innovation and accuracy. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions across multiple accounts. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies for prompt resolution. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation. Support payroll management activities utilizing systems like ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or Paychex, ensuring timely processing of employee payments. Perform detailed account analysis to monitor financial health and support budgeting efforts. Ensure compliance with internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and assist with audits by providing necessary documentation. Skills Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and governmental accounting practices. Proficiency in various accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, and Workday. Experience with technical accounting issues such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, or complex journal entries. Familiarity with payroll management systems like Paychex or ADP along with payroll tax regulations. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10-key typing and double-entry bookkeeping methods. Ability to analyze financial data accurately while maintaining attention to detail in account reconciliation processes. Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, general ledger accounting, account analysis, and budget preparation.
