Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Assist with Easter Seals RGV fund development functions as needed. 2. Promotes Easter Seals RGV in a professional manner at all times. 3. Promote safety in the organization for staff, visitors and clients of Easter Seals RGV through following Safety Precautions and Procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual. 4. Promote a positive image through manners, dress, attendance and attitude. 5. Other duties as assigned by management. However, occasional assignment of students and volunteers. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment, air-conditioned, well-lit in a furnished office building. Limited work in on-air-conditioned area when working in facility's storage areas. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, office materials, and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and see. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This is a largely sedentary role; however, filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets constant reaching, handling, stretching, bending, crouching and stooping while picking up boxes or other minor office equipment. May be required to climb a stepladder or stand on a stool as necessary. Occasional heavy lifting - 20 to 45 pounds. Ability to read typewritten material and computer monitor under typical office conditions. Must be able to handle multiple duties/functions at one time. Must be able to manage demands of workload in appropriate manner. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time non-exempt position. A typical office workweek days and hours of operation are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, in some occasions it may require some evenings and weekend hours. Travel Travel is not expected for this position. However, occasional requests may be made for operational errands. Required Education and Experience 1. High school graduate or equivalent certification, bachelors in accounting preferred. 2. One or more years of experience in the accounting field with knowledge of general accounting functions, or bachelors in accounting in lieu of experience. 3. Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills and proven demonstration of position interpersonal skills in phone, electronic and face to face communication. 4. Computer knowledge to include Word processing, Excel worksheets, light typing and filing skills. Knowledge of accounting software preferred. 5. Good time management skills, excellent follow through abilities and detail oriented. 6. Ability to work well with others and in a team environment. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be able to successfully clear a criminal background check that may include DPS, DFPS, FBI, general Public Data backgrounds. Initially and every 24 months as per policy. Must be able to successfully clear a drug screen. Initially, randomly or when requested. Must be able to maintain a cleared TB skin screen test. Initially and upon expiration date. Work Authorization Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States. H-1B sponsorship not available.
