PR) is currently seeking an Indirect Tax Lead, reporting to the Director of Tax, in Midland, Texas. This position will be responsible for leading the indirect tax function for PR. This position will be responsible for indirect tax issues, including but not limited to sale and use tax and ad valorem tax. The ideal candidate will have certain accounting skills, an understanding of the oil and gas industry, and proficient Microsoft Excel skills. General Responsibilities Oversee and manage the indirect tax function to ensure compliance with taxing authorities. Assess inefficiencies and risk associated with indirect tax function and advise management on potential solutions and planning opportunities. Responsible for performing managed sales and use tax audits. Effectively manage and utilize third party consultants, including assisting outside ad valorem compliance and audit teams. Evaluate and implement sales and use tax software. Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns. Perform research to determine the taxability of acquired goods and services. Provide exemption certificates to vendors and manage the exemption certificate process. Review and research relevant tax laws, regulations, and rulings to address tax compliance and audit issues. Draft technical memoranda in support of technical positions. Process and respond to various tax notices, contacting tax authorities when necessary Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience Minimum of 8 years of indirect tax experience in the oil and gas industry. Microsoft Office proficiency required (Excel and Word). Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must possess a strong work ethic.
