Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented entry-level Accountant to support a short-term Contract assignment in Plano, Texas. This role focuses on data-intensive accounting work tied to manual billing accounts and requires someone who can organize information accurately, analyze discrepancies, and help keep key processes on track. The position is best suited for a candidate who is comfortable working in an office environment, communicates clearly in English, and can contribute effectively during a 30-day engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Review manual billed account activity and organize financial data to support fleet-related accounting tasks.
- Investigate account discrepancies by comparing records, identifying inconsistencies, and preparing accurate updates.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by entering, tracking, and validating transaction details.
- Perform account and bank reconciliations to ensure balances align and outstanding items are properly documented.
- Prepare and post basic accounting entries with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Use Excel to sort, analyze, and maintain reports that help monitor progress and highlight unresolved issues.
- Support day-to-day project work by prioritizing assigned tasks and completing deliverables within the expected timeline.
- Collaborate with internal team members in the office to clarify data questions and maintain organized financial records. Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage spreadsheets, sort data, and work with formulas.
- Working knowledge of core accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review detailed information and recognize errors or inconsistencies.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple data-focused tasks efficiently.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Availability to work 4-5 hours per day, Monday through Thursday
- Ability to work on-site in Plano, Texas, with in-office attendance preferred.
