Job Description

Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. They must be discreet and comfortable working with highly confidential information, able to juggle multiple deadlines simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and handle frequent interruptions in an office environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization. Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. Maintains the general ledger. Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books. Running reports for management Recording a wide range of financial transactions Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from management. Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit. Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Sound Knowledge of accounting fundamentals and generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and QuickBooks accounting software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field, preferred. At least three years of related experience required. Property management experience is a plus. Pay starts at $55,000 to $60,000 annually, based on experience, with a $500 signing bonus after 90 days, $1,000 at six months, and an additional $1,500 bonus at one year.
