Job Description

Description:
The Staff Accountant performs a wide range of general accounting activities including assisting in the successful execution of month-end close procedures, application of principles of accounting to analyze financial information, and preparation of financial reports by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
Compiles and analyzes financial information to post entries to general ledger accounts, and document business transactions. Maintain General Ledger and recording of journal entries to support auditable, accurate financial statements in a deadline driven environment (5-day month-end close timeline). Record monthly food inventory balances and transfers between locations based on information provided by Operations. Oversee daily bank reconciliation activity in Oracle Cash Management performed by outsource providers and providing guidance on coding. Responsible for analyzing and reporting daily cash flow. Review and approve coding for purchase requisitions. Maintain documentation in support of all entries, accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries as part of completeness and accuracy documentation in support of internal controls over financial reporting. Cross-departmental collaboration with different departments to achieve optimal business outcomes. Prepare monthly account reconciliations as well as variance explanations and documentation. Responsible for processing payroll journals, collaboration with Payroll, and providing explanations for payroll analytics. Audit/Review of corporate card expenses. Responsible for ensuing all necessary journal entries are processed daily. Perform account analysis and research any variances. Other duties as necessary and assigned by management and supervisory personnel.
Competency:
Must have solid understanding and ability to read and interpret financial statements. Must be able to demonstrate strong use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook. Must be a team player who can multi-task in a fast paced, high-volume environment who is flexible and can adapt to changing priorities.
Education And/or Experience:
