Job Description

Oversees receivable activities, processes and procedures for the University and provides accounting support for the Cashier's Office. Provides professional accounting services for the institution including account analysis, reconciliation, training, and other duties as assigned. Oversees and ensures timely processing of receivables and assists the Cashier's Office functions and processes at the accountant level, and assists with problem solving, training, process improvement and implementations. Provides institutional support and satisfying customer service inquiries. Assist in financial analysis and account reconciliations. Assist with the preparation of SUU yearly, audited Financial Statements. Other Duties as assigned. . Minimum Qualifications 4 Year/bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field. Knowledge & Skills & Experience Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a related accounts receivable or accounting environment.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability of:
Effective written and verbal communication skills. Professional appearance and attitude. Strong organization skills. Capable of managing numerous tasks at once. Ability to use computerized accounting systems as well as a functional use of related software, i.e., spreadsheets, and word processors. Ability to work effectively under pressure to create accurate and timely work. Assist in creating and fostering an atmosphere of professionalism, cooperation, customer service and teamwork. Ability to understand and develop new techniques to deal effectively with situations, processes, or challenges when they arise.
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Accounts receivable and collection processes, laws, and reporting requirements. Higher education or non-profit accounting. Banner ERP system. This position is contingent on funding. Due to recent changes in H1B visa fees, Southern Utah University is no longer able to sponsor international faculty and staff that require an H1B visa and are currently living outside of the United States.
