Job Description

Role Overview Eminent Technical Solutions is seeking a high-caliber Senior Accountant to support the integrity and growth of our financial operations across a dynamic, project-based business environment. Senior Accountants at ETS own the full accounting cycle, collaborate closely with executive leadership, and serve as the internal authority on financial accuracy and process improvement. This role is designed for someone ready to take on meaningful responsibility from day one, with a clear path toward a Controller position for the right candidate. Strong analytical skills and executive presence are essential for communicating financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and contributing to long-term strategic decisions. The Controller Track This position is structured for someone who feels they've hit a ceiling elsewhere and is ready for a defined path forward. High performers will gradually take on Controller-level responsibilities, including: Board-level financial presentations Full ownership of the budgeting and forecasting cycle High-level risk management and insurance oversight Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP Reconcile project costs, track milestones, and maintain accurate project-based financial records Supervise and review the work of accounting staff, supporting their professional development and the accuracy of their output Prepare financial statements and deliver variance analysis and KPI reporting to executive leadership Evaluate existing workflows and implement solutions to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy Lead preparation for annual audits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements Work across AP, AR, payroll, and treasury functions to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement Communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team-lead role Demonstrated experience managing complex project-based financials Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with mid-to-enterprise ERP systems (Acumatica experience a plus) Ability to pass a background screening Desired Skills Successful candidates typically demonstrate: Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including comfort presenting to senior leadership Creative problem-solving and process improvement instincts Effective time management across multiple concurrent priorities Ability to work independently and lead a team The Controller Track This position is structured for someone who feels they've hit a ceiling elsewhere and is ready for a defined path forward.
