The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is essential for supporting our financial operations and providing insights that drive decision-making. Duties Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation. Conduct accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely processing of invoices and collections. Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and tax filings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Support budgeting processes through financial analysis and forecasting. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management. Conduct audits to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to internal controls. Mentor junior accounting staff to foster professional development within the team. Analyze cash flow and prepare financial reports to provide insights into financial performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support corporate finance initiatives. Experience The ideal candidate should have: A degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CPA). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Experience with public accounting, corporate accounting, or non-profit accounting is advantageous. Familiarity with SOX compliance, securities law, governmental accounting, and technical accounting concepts. Strong understanding of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and payroll processing. Demonstrated ability in financial report writing and interpretation as well as account analysis. Experience in private equity or working with LIHTC projects is a plus.
