Location:
Arlington, VA 22202 Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, fixed assets, government reporting, budgeting, and month-end close activities. This role works closely with the Accounting Manager and serves as a key partner in maintaining financial accuracy, process improvements, and internal controls. This is a 100% onsite, temp-to-perm opportunity. Job Description Perform complex account reconciliations and maintain the integrity of the General Ledger. Manage accounting system maintenance, chart of accounts updates, and financial statement mapping. Reconcile Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable subsidiary ledgers to the General Ledger. Complete government reporting requirements and serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies. Maintain fixed asset records, capital additions, retirements, depreciation entries, and forecasting activities within SAP. Assist with month-end close processes, journal entries, account analysis, and financial reporting. Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and corporate reporting packages. Support and oversee work performed by offshore accounting teams. Review and validate bank reconciliations and support treasury and cash management activities. Assist with wire transfers, cash reporting, and banking relationships. Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Support implementation of accounting tools and process improvements. Perform payroll reconciliations, expense reporting, accounts payable analysis, and accounts receivable support. Analyze monthly overhead reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities. Participate in special projects and other accounting duties as assigned. Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 5-8 years of experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience. SAP ERP experience required. Experience with General Ledger reconciliations and complex account analysis. Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills. Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience supporting process improvement initiatives. Preferred Skills Master's degree in Accounting or related field. Experience working with international teams. Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance reporting. Budgeting and forecasting experience. Leadership experience, including mentoring or coordinating work of others. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to drive process improvements. Education Requirements Master's degree in Accounting or related field with 4-6 years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 5-8 years of experience; OR Associate's degree in Accounting or related field with 8-10 years of experience.
