Position Summary Our client is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to support financial management activities across a growing portfolio of large scale development projects. This individual will play a key role in project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, reporting, and financial oversight while partnering closely with project teams and leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong project accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and thrives in fast paced, highly collaborative environments. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project accounting activities including project setup, budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
  • Monitor project costs, expenditures, and financial performance while preparing variance analyses and reporting packages
  • Prepare monthly project financial reports and ensure accuracy of project level accounting and reporting
  • Partner closely with project managers, operations teams, procurement teams, and leadership to support project financial performance
  • Support month end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and project accounting reviews
  • Assist with billing, invoicing, collections, and vendor related accounting activities
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes through project level financial analysis and reporting
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support systems enhancements to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy
  • Support audits, lender reporting, investor reporting, and project financial documentation requirements Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2+ years supporting project accounting, construction accounting, real estate development accounting, infrastructure accounting, or related environments
  • Strong understanding of project accounting principles and US GAAP
  • Experience working with ERP or project accounting systems such as Yardi, Deltek, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Experience supporting real estate development, construction, infrastructure, data center, or capital project environments strongly preferred
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA is preferred but not required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Benefits
