General Management Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a privately held, diversified organization in their search for an Accountant to support financial reporting, analysis, job costing, and day-to-day accounting activities across multiple business entities. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills, knowledge of GAAP, and experience working with job costs.
What You Will Do:
Perform job cost accounting, including tracking, analyzing, and reconciling project costs and related financial activity.
Monitor job costs against budgets, analyze variances, and investigate discrepancies.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
Support monthly financial close and reporting for multiple companies across various industries.
Analyze accounts and financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve errors in a timely manner.
Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial data analysis using Excel.
Review financial transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance with GAAP.
Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to financial information requests.
Recommend appropriate accounting treatment for reserves, assets, expenditures, and other transactions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, job costing processes, and workflows.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
2+ years of related accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge and practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Job # 2395 Share
