Position Overview The Business Manager serves as a central support role within the company, helping ensure the financial, administrative, and showroom operations of Dovetail run smoothly each day. This role involves bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and commissions and office administration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive—someone who enjoys creating order, keeping things moving, and helping a team thrive. Key Responsibilities Financial & Administrative Operations Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions in coordination with ownership Process Accounts Receivable (AR) and follow up on outstanding balances. Dovetail is currently using QuickBooks online. Process Accounts Payable (AP) and maintain vendor payment schedules. Dovetail is currently using bill.com. Run payroll and commissions. Dovetail is currently using ADP. Track and calculate sales commissions accurately and confidentially Maintain organized digital and physical company records Assist leadership with reporting, tracking, and administrative support Help improve and maintain efficient internal systems and workflows Office Management Support daily administrative operations across showroom locations Help facilitate communication and coordination between departments and locations Assist leadership team with operational support as needed Client Experience & Showroom Support Help maintain a polished, welcoming, and professional showroom environment Coordinate scheduling and logistics for showroom events, and artist exhibits Maintain organization and inventory of samples, finish chips, catalogs, and vendor literature Audit showroom displays and presentation materials regularly Order and maintain vendor samples, displays, and literature updates Support communication workflows that contribute to an exceptional client experience Qualifications Experience in bookkeeping, business administration, office management, or operations support Strong organizational and time management skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information professionally Strong communication and follow-through skills Ability to manage multiple priorities with calm and professionalism Self-motivated and proactive Preferred Experience QuickBooks Online experience Payroll and commissions experience Familiarity with Microsoft 365 systems Experience supporting a client-facing environment What Success Looks Like In this role, success means: Financial and administrative details are accurate and on time Vendors, employees, and clients receive timely communication Showrooms remain polished, organized, and ready for clients Internal systems run efficiently and reliably Leadership can confidently delegate operational details knowing they are handled well The team feels supported and the business runs more smoothly because you are here
